Chilhowee Baptist Church is seeking a youth pastor with a heart for rural ministry. Chilhowee, MO is a small farm town halfway between Warrensburg and Clinton. CBC seeks to be a place for the hurt to find healing and a catalyst for the betterment of Chilhowee. We want to lead in the efforts to grow and build a healthy, stable community as sojourners who plant and build.The youth pastor will take part in the mission by engaging with the lost teenagers and their families. We have a stipend available and the opportunity to reach at-risk teens through a tight relationship with the local school.

Full Job Description
Principle Function:
Responsible for the development and execution of a comprehensive program for student discipleship (7th-12th grade).
Ministry Requirements and Responsibilities:
General Expectations
~20 hrs/week including, but not limited to, Sunday morning and Wednesday night services (Sundays 10-12pm, Wednesdays 7:30-8:30pm). We currently do not hold Sunday night activities, however this time is available for special events or meetings.
Have a personal, growing relationship with Jesus Christ
Be above reproach (1 Tim 3:2)
Be teachable (Leading with humility, 1 Peter 5:3)
Hold beliefs compatible with the BF&M 2000
Must pass a background check
In Worship:
Participate in weekly services using your God-given gifts and talents
Encourage and enlist students to also participate in weekly services including but not
limited to providing special music, helping with offering, running tech equipment, or using
other God-given gifts and talents
Opportunities to preach would be available if desired
In Discipleship:
Counsel with church leaders in planning, conducting and evaluating a student education ministry and in enlisting appropriate workers.
Advise in the use of program materials, equipment, supplies and space by student group in all church program organizations.
Assist with planning and conducting special projects, such as camps and retreats for students.
In Evangelism:
Coordinate student outreach. Lead students and workers to visit, contact, and minister to prospects and absentees.
In Ministering:
Participate whenever possible in other church ministry activities, such as food distribution or other community events
In Fellowship:
Participate in special events designed to build fellowship among the church, such as monthly potlucks
In Administration:
Develop a vision for the student ministry and propose a budget for the continued development and improvement of all aspects of this ministry. Appropriately administer budgeted funds when approved and available.
Serve as a member of the Church Council representing the student ministry (annual meeting).
Meet with Pastor regularly to maintain healthy communication
Compensation: $12,000/yr
