Christ Brings Love
Christ Brings Love
This week we celebrate the fourth week of Advent with a look at how Christ brings love into this world. Of all that is believed about Jesus, He is best known for love...and rightly so. Jesus is the demonstration of God's love.
John 3:16-17
For God so loved the world, that he gave his only Son, that whoever believes in him should not perish but have eternal life. For God did not send his Son into the world to condemn the world, but in order that the world might be saved through him.
This famous passage is a reminder of the love God demonstrated for us. That love is the catalyst for the themes of Advent we have already looked at.
The hope Christ brings is based on the fact “whoever believes in Him should not perish but have eternal life.
The peace Christ brings is based on knowing Jesus did not come to bring condemnation to this world, but to save it!
The joy Christ brings is based on knowing Jesus has accomplished all that He intended to accomplish, and when He returns, He will once again accomplish all that He intends.
God loved us enough to send His Son and reconcile us to Himself.
The hope, peace, and joy of Christmas is possible because of God’s love for us.
This year, if you have not experienced the love of God, the kind of love that is impossible to describe, then turn to Jesus. Turn away from your sin, and turn to the Savior who provides an assured hope, a peace that surpasses understanding, and joy that permeates even the darkest of times.
